Protests erupt in US after police officer kills black man

The Black Lives Matter movement that gained momentum during the pandemic seems to be losing its impact. It started with a white cop choking a black man, George Floyd, who kept saying that he can’t breathe. The video of the incident went viral over social media and prompted huge protests across the United States of America.

However, in another news recently, the killing of a black man by a white cop sparked a series of protests over the past three days in Michigan’s Grand Rapids.

The protests previously erupted on Wednesday after the Grand Rapids Police Department delivered a few recordings of an official’s experience with Patrick Lyoya recently, including two that show the lethal shot during a battle after a traffic stop, local media reported.

Lyoya, 26, an evacuee from Congo, was killed in the nursery of a house in Grand Rapids after a short pursuit followed by a battle with the official, who has not been named.
