Hyderabad: The 71th Republic Day celebrations were held in the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy on Sunday. Academy Director Atul Karwal unfurled the National Flag. The ceremonial Republic Day Parade was commanded by Ajeetha Begum, IPS, Assistant Director.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director exhorted the IPS Probationers of 72 RR to commit themselves to the Constitutional ideals, adhere to the principle of equality and establish Rule of Law in its true spirit.
On the Occasion, Atul Karwal was awarded Police Medal for Gallantry for his role in Counter Terrorism Operations in J&K while serving as IG CRPF, Kashmir. B. Gopal, Sub-Inspector (Band) has been awarded with President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service and Amrit Singh, Head Constable has been awarded with President Police Medal for Meritorious Service.
The Director also presented the medals to the winners of Union Home Minister’s Medal for the year 2017-18, and the Indian Police Medal for Meritorious Service announced on the Republic Day, 2019.
