Ration dealers strike: Nayakoti threatens fast-unto-death after July 5

Hyderabad: Telangana Ration Dealers Association (TRDA) president Nayakoti Raju has warned the State government that he would go on fast-unto-death if the government failed to clear their arrears before July 5.

Speaking to the media after Ration Dealers’ meeting here on Friday, Nayakoti lamented that the government was not coming forward for discussions even though the Ration Dealers Association served notices to the government. He said the ration dealers across the nation got job security except in Telangana State and lamented that the condition of ration dealers in the State was deteriorating. He said they would perform “Palabhishekam” to KCR’s portrait if the Chief Minister provided job security to ration dealers.

Stating that they have All India Ration Dealers Association’s support, Nayakoti said five lakh ration dealers across the nation were ready to participate in strike in solidarity with them. He warned that the government has to own responsibility if anything happens in future. He said their association was extending thanks to the dealers for extending cooperation to them by not filing OR though the government troubled a lot. (NSS)
