Rs 5.8 crore cash seized from car in Jangaon, 3 held

Warangal: Telangana police on Monday midnight and seized over Rs 5 crore unaccounted cash from a car at Jangaon in Warangal district and detained three people in this connection.

According to reports, the car was intercepted at a check-post in Jangaon area in Warangal district. Police said the seized cash of Rs 5.8 crore, all in Rs 2,000 denomination were kept under the rear seat of the car belonging to Kutami leaders. Police said out of the haul, Rs 2.30 crore belonged to Konda Murali, Rs 2 crore belonged to Warangal East candidate Vaddiraju Ravichandra and Rs 1.5 crore belonged to Nama Nageshwara Rao. The police have disclosed that the cash was being transported by Keertikumar Jain of Goshamahal in the city.

So far, unaccounted cash and goods worth Rs 111 crore have been seized on separate occasions in the State as the election campaigning reaching in its last leg. The State will go for polling on December 7. (NSS)
