Russia is now looking forward to the partnership with India for the production of the first COVID-19 vaccine Sputnik V, the CEO of Russian direct investment fund Kirill Dmitriev said on Thursday.
Gamaleya research institute of epidemiology and microbiology along with RDIF has developed this Sputnik V vaccine to fight against COVID 19 and this vaccine has not been tested on a large scale or phase 3 trials.
In an online press conference, Kirill Dmitriev has said that many countries are interested in the production of the vaccine.
Presently the production of the russia vaccine is an important issue, currently, we are looking for the partnership with India for production of Sputnik V we believe that India is capable for producing Gamleya Vaccine and it is very important to say that this partnership for the production of the vaccine will enable us to cover the demand of vaccine said, Kirill Dmitriev
He also said that Russia is looking forward to international cooperation.
Kirill Dmitriev also said that they are going to do clinical testing not only in Russia but also in Saudi Arabia, UAE, probably India and Brazil and we are planning for the production of vaccine in five countries and there is a high demand of COVID-19 vaccine in America Asia, Italy and other parts of the world.
The director of the Gamleya research institute of epidemiology and microbiology, Alexander Ginsburg and academician at Russian academy of sciences has said that more than 20,000 people have taken part in the clinical trials of Sputnik V vaccine and drugs based on human adenoviral vectors or human adenoviruses.
Human adenoviruses are not in the vaccine but human adenovirus vectors which are human viruses that cannot multiply in the body and is completely safe.
The Russian vaccine consists of 2 shots that are used in different versions of adenoviruses or virus types, some of which cause cold, that is the manufacturers have engineered to carry the surface of protein of SARS-CoV-2 THAT CAUSES COVID 19.
