Actress Sai Pallavi has expressed her frustration over baseless rumours circulating about her, following a report in a Tamil publication claiming that she adopted a vegetarian diet specifically for her role as Sita in Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming film Ramayana. In the post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Pallavi condemned the spread of fabricated stories and warned of legal action against individuals or media outlets spreading such rumours.
The actress, who is set to portray Goddess Sita in the much-anticipated film, voiced her displeasure after the publication alleged that she even traveled with a team of cooks to ensure the availability of vegetarian food during the shooting. Responding to the report, Sai Pallavi stated, “Most of the times, almost every time, I choose to stay silent whenever I see baseless rumours or fabricated lies being spread. But it’s high-time that I react as it keeps happening consistently, especially around the time of my films’ releases or announcements.”
She went on to warn the perpetrators, writing, “Next time I see any ‘reputed’ page or media/individual carrying a cooked-up story in the name of news or gossip, then you will hear from me legally! Period!”

In a separate post, producer Namit Malhotra shared his excitement about the project, stating that the film has been in the works for over a decade. Malhotra emphasized that the team is committed to bringing an authentic and visually stunning adaptation of the epic that has been cherished by billions for over 5,000 years. He expressed his thrill in seeing the film take shape, promising audiences a portrayal that captures the sacred essence of the Ramayana.
