Hyderabad: A sanitation worker of Telangana who met an accident in Saudi Arabia pleaded the company to pay compensation to him. Hails from Dharmora village, Makloor Mandal of Nizamabad District Chakli Hanumandlu worked for Baladia company in the gulf country.
He met with an accident while he was on duty due to a car hitting him from behind on 25th January 2016. He was treated for six months in a hospital and was repatriated to India. The lower part of the waist lost its sensitivity due to spinal cord injury. For the past four years, he is bedridden.
A delegation of Pravasi Mithra Labor Union representatives Dikonda Kiran and Akkolla Baburao met him and assured to pursue the matter. They mailed a detailed letter to the higher officials of the Indian embassy in Riyadh to know the status of the compensation claim of the Hanmandlu in the court.
Hanumandlu claimed that apart from giving power of attorney, he had handed over all documents related to the accident to his employer while undergoing treatment in a Saudi hospital however till now no compensation was provided. Hanumandlu said that his wife and three daughters are dependents on him. Relatives, friends and society are helping for medical and other expenses.
