The Saudi Cabinet, chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, on Monday officially welcomed the upcoming visit of U.S. President Donald Trump to the Kingdom, expressing optimism that the trip would strengthen the strategic partnership between Riyadh and Washington, according to a statement by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Held in Riyadh, the weekly Cabinet session saw ministers affirm the significance of Trump’s visit in enhancing cooperation across various sectors, aligned with the shared interests and long-term strategic visions of both nations.
Essam bin Saad bin Saeed, Minister of State and Acting Minister of Media, said the Cabinet also took a strong stand on the ongoing Israel-Gaza conflict, reiterating its condemnation of Israeli incursions into Gaza and occupied Palestinian territories. The Cabinet emphasized the violations of international humanitarian law by Israeli forces and reaffirmed the Kingdom’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

In a notable diplomatic stance, the Cabinet welcomed the recent ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and India, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s role as a regional peace advocate. The ministers reiterated their commitment to working with international partners to promote lasting peace in South Asia.
Looking ahead to multilateral diplomacy, the Cabinet highlighted Saudi Arabia’s hosting of the Munich Security Conference Leaders’ Meeting in late 2025, positioning the Kingdom as a proactive player in fostering global peace, security, and stability.
In a series of international cooperation efforts, the Cabinet approved several memorandums of understanding (MoUs):
- A Saudi-Italian MoU for collaboration in the energy sector.
- Authorization for the Minister of Education to finalize a U.S.-Saudi MoU focused on education and training cooperation.
- An MoU between the Saudi Food and Drug Authority and China’s National Medical Products Administration to improve coordination on the regulation of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and cosmetics.
- An agreement between Saudi Arabia’s Presidency of State Security and Oman’s General Secretariat for Communications and Coordination to enhance counter-terrorism cooperation, including efforts to combat terrorism financing.
Additionally, the Cabinet celebrated Saudi Arabia’s election as the Arab Group’s representative to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Council, a move seen as boosting the Kingdom’s influence in global aviation governance.
The Cabinet session underscored Saudi Arabia’s active diplomatic engagements ahead of Trump’s visit, which is expected to further align Riyadh and Washington on shared regional and global objectives.
