Hyderabad: The students of Social & Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Societies have proved their mettle in International Karate championship held in Malaysia by bagging four gold, two silver and four bronze medals. Poor girls from Scheduled Caste and Schedule Tribe backgrounds overcame massive odds to emerge victorious in the International Karate Championship.
TSWREIS secretary Dr RS Praveen Kumar has congratulated the winners and expressed his happiness over the fact that young girls from humble family backgrounds crossing the Indian geographical boundaries and coming out with flying colours in Karate championships. The Tribal and the Social Welfare Educational Societies are committed for pulling the girls from a sense of inferiority complex and empowering them, he added.
Dr Praveen Kumar also thanked Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao, Minister for Scheduled Caste Development Department G. Jagadish Reddy and Tribal Welfare Minister A Chandulal for their support to the cause of educational and career advancement of marginalized boys and girls under the KG-PG mission. (NSS)
