‘Seat Sharing’ Creates Discontent among Congress Ticket Aspirant’s Followers

Hyderabad: The much awaited completion of the seat sharing process among the grand alliance partners seems to have opened up a pandora’s box for the main Congress Party. The supporters of ticket aspirants who did not get the ticket due to the grand alliance compulsions,  have come out on streets and staged Dharna before Gandhi Bhavan, the TPCC headquarters in the city on Friday.

On learning that their leader was denied the party ticket from Malkajgiri assembly segment as the seat was reportedly allotted to alliance partner TJS, the supporters of Congress party leader from the seat staged a protest demonstration in front of Gandhi Bhavan. They raised slogans against TJS party and its leaders and demanded party leadership to give ticket to their leader Sridhar from the seat. Sensing trouble due to the protest by  the supporters, senior Congress leader, V Hanumantha Rao,  who was present in the party headquarters,  intervened in the issue and held discussions with the ticket aspirant Sridhar and his supporters. He promised him that the party would not forget the services rendered by Sridhar to the party and would gift him with a suitable post after coming to power in the state. Rao made it clear none of the hard working party leaders and workers would be ignored by the party once it regains power in the state.(NSS)
