Shabbir Ali, Eminent Scholars Lay the Foundation for Quran Research Centre in Medak Dist

Hyderabad: Former Minister & ex-Leader of Opposition in Telangana Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir, along with eminent Islamic scholar Moulana Shah Mohammed Jamal-ur-Rahman and other religious leaders laid the foundation for Holy Quran Research Centre and inaugurated Masjid-e-Bi Jaan Bi at Shivnoor, Narsingi in Medak district on Tuesday.

Speaking to media persons after the inauguration of the mosque, Shabbir Ali said that the mosque is located on National Highway 44. He informed that the entire complex is spread over 4 acres of land. It houses a beautiful mosque that has been constructed on the basis of Moghal and Turkish architecture resembling some of the beautiful mosques of Afghanistan. Besides a mosque, the complex will have a Holy Quran Research Centre, a residential hostel, and other facilities.

Shabbir Ali said that several facilities like washrooms and dining areas have been created for the passengers traveling on NH 44. He said separate facilities have been created for women. He said passengers, especially those traveling to Bodhan, Nirmal, Nizamabad, and Adilabad, could halt at the masjid complex to fresh n up and offer prayers. He said that the Holy Quran Research Foundation would promote modern education and research by providing all facilities to the scholars.

The land for the mosque has been donated by the Ghowri family while its members Shahid Gowri and Manzoor Gowri played an active role in the construction.

Earlier, while addressing the gathering before Zohar prayers, Shabbir Ali stressed the importance of modern education and research in Madrasas and other religious institutions. He recalled that as the then cabinet minister, he took several initiatives for the modernization of Madrasas. He also narrated the background of the construction and renovation of Masjid-e-Hashmi and Masjid-e-Moatamadi in the Secretariat which was demolished by the TRS Government. He said it takes a lot of time, resources, and efforts to construct a place of worship. Therefore, it was everyone’s duty to protect their places of worship and utilize them for the betterment of society.

Speaking on the occasion, Moulana Shah Jamalur Rahman exhorted Muslims to ensure that they perform the prayers five times a day without fail. Further, he stressed maintaining peace and communal harmony in the society.

The inaugural function was attended by TRS MLC Farooq Hussain, Architect Mohammed Anees, Nawab Ahmed Alam Khan, Barkat Alam Khan (son-in-law of Barrister Asaduddin Owaisi), Masqati Group Government Irfan Masqati, Rafiq Imani of Aga Khan Foundation, and other eminent personalities from various walks of life.
