Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami has recently addressed the swirling rumors connecting him to tennis star Sania Mirza, following the circulation of manipulated images and misleading posts on social media.
In a candid conversation with Shubhankar Mishra on YouTube, Shami directly tackled the false speculations about his and Mirza’s supposed upcoming marriage. He expressed frustration over the circulation of such news and urged people to be more responsible with their social media activity.
Shami criticized the creators of these rumors, stating, “I urge everyone to be responsible with social media and refrain from spreading such unfounded news.” He acknowledged that while memes might be entertaining, they can have serious implications when related to someone’s personal life.

In his video, Shami shared his sentiments on the issue in Hindi, saying, “Ajeeb hi hai aur hai kya usme? Zabardasti kiya hai par kya karien? Phone kholo toh apna hi photo dikhta hai. Lekin mai ek hi cheez bolna chahunga – Kisiko nehi kheechna chahiye aisa. Main maanta hu memes aapke mazaak ke liye hai lekin kisi ke life se related hote hai. Toh aapko bari soch samajh kar memes banana chahiye. Aaj aap verified page nehi ho, aapka address nehi hai, known nehi ho toh aap bol sakte ho.”
He elaborated further, “Lekin mai ek hi cheez bolna chahunga – agar aap mein dum hai toh verified page se bolke dikhao, fir hum batate hai. Dusre ki taang kheenchna bohot aasan hai. Success achieve karo, apna level upar karo. Tab main manunga aap acche insaan hai.” This translates to: “It is strange and done for some lame fun. But what can be done? If I open my phone, I see those memes. But I would only like to say that memes are made for fun, but if they are related to someone’s life, then you must think before sharing. Those who share from unverified pages get away with saying anything.”
Shami’s comments come as a stern reminder of the potential harm caused by irresponsible social media behavior and the need for a more thoughtful approach when disseminating content related to individuals’ personal lives.
