Shooting in Rangareddy takes life of two realtors

Unidentified assailants opened fire on two real estate businessmen in Ibrahimpatnam of Rangareddy district.

On Tuesday morning, Srinivas Reddy and Raghava Reddy, both of who are into the real estate business, went to Karnamguda village in Ibrahimpatnam when someone allegedly shot at them.

While Srinivas Reddy died on the spot, Raghava Reddy was hit with a bullet and taken to the hospital, where he died during treatment.

The incident was discovered after several witnesses noticed a Scorpio vehicle by the roadside with a wounded individual inside. They thought it was an accident at first, but the injured person told them that someone opened fire on him. They also discovered a body nearby and quickly called the police.

Preliminary police investigations indicated that both individuals had purchased a land parcel in Ibrahimpatnam a few months prior and that there were some property disputes.

The realtors’ relatives said they were returning to Hyderabad after inspecting a real estate project they were working on together.

The deceased’s families said they bought 20 acres of land roughly two years ago but had a conflict with a neighbour. The police took him into custody for questioning.

“It’s unclear what happened at the scene. Both of the people who died did not have a firearm license. We questioned one person with whom they had purchased land, but we haven’t gotten any leads so far,” said a senior Rachakonda police official.

The police are verifying surveillance camera footage from BN Reddy Nagar to Ibrahimpatnam. A few more people were questioned by the police.
