Shun dual standards on elections, TRS tells Congress

Hyderabad: The TRS leadership, which plunged in the electioneering, today accused the Congress for lacking clarity on the polls and moving courts fearing defeat. “The Congress does not seem to be ready for the early polls and resorting to make false charges on voters’ list”, he fumed.

Talking to mediapersons at Telangana Bhavan, TRS MP B Vinod Kumar said from GO 123 to the elections, the Congress was moving courts. The Congress leaders have become court birds and not sailing with the people, he said, adding that the TRS has been with the people and implementing many welfare schemes. He also ridiculed while the TPCC Chief N Utham Kumar Reddy was getting ready for the polls, other leader Marri Shashidhar Reddy was moving courts against polling in the name of irregularities in the voters’ list.

The Congress was hatching a conspiracy against the polls which are just three months before and not a couple of years, he ridiculed. How such double standards continue in a national party like the Congress”, he asked. Stating that the Congress has been filing cases against irrigation projects, he said on Thursday also, it filed a case in Supreme Court urging it to stall the early polls. The polls have to be conducted within six months of dissolution of the Assembly as per the Constitution.

Vinod Kumar took a serious exception to false tactics of the Congress and suggested its leaders to shun the dual standards and get ready for the polls. The early polls are common as was witnessed during the regimes of Indira Gandhi, Vajpayee and Narendra Modi, he said. He also found fault with Shashidhar Reddy for moving the court stating that names of about 70 lakh of voters have been missing in the voters list. The EC will check the deletion or duplicacy or other issues. The TRS will retain power despite Congress hatching conspiracy, he said. (NSS)
