Hyderabad: A software engineer committed suicide this morning by jumping down from fifth floor of an apartment building on Road No 8 under Banjara Hills police limits here.
According to sub-inspector Srinivas, the deceased identified as Shiva, 35, belonging to Vijayawada was living in LB Nagar in the city and was working in HR department in a company. The SI said the deceased reportedly got up at 3.30 am and jumped from fifth floor of Mass Heights apartment building and died on the spot.
On receipt of the information, the Banjara Hills police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to a local hospital. In the police inquiry, it was revealed that Shiva initially attempted suicide by stabbing himself in stomach. The deceased left behind his wife and a son. It may be mentioned here that today was his marriage day.
The SI said he was investigating the suicide in various angles to find the reasons that drove Shiva to commit suicide. (NSS)
