Actor, singer, producer and author, Priyanka Chopra, has now spread her wings further with a new venture- an Indian restaurant. She began her business empire with a haircare line called Anomaly in the recent past. Her new restaurant is set up in New York and will serve Indian food, depicting the actress’s love for her native cuisine.
Priyanka shared pictures of the prayer ceremony and the banner of the restaurant on her Instagram account. In the photographs, she can be seen performing the rituals with her husband Nick Jonas. She said the pictures were from 2019 before the work began at the location that houses the food joint now.
The actress said in her post that the restaurant, called ‘Sona’, will open later in March and serve Indian food with the head chef Hari Nayak who is a renowned culinary artist.
Mrs Jonas expressed her joy regarding her new venture through the post that read, “I’m thrilled to present to you SONA, a new restaurant in NYC that I poured my love for Indian food into. SONA is the very embodiment of timeless India and the flavours I grew up with. The kitchen is helmed by the incredible Chef Hari Nayak, a masterful talent, who has created the most delicious and innovative menu, taking you on a food journey through my amazing country.”

“SONA is opening later this month, and I can’t wait to see you there! This endeavour would not have been possible without the leadership of my friends Maneesh Goyal and David Rabin. Thank you to our designer Melissa Bowers and the rest of the team for realizing this vision so clearly. The second and third photos were taken in September 2019 when we performed a small intimate Puja (prayer ceremony) to bless the space that would soon become Sona. Godspeed!” she added.

Many celebrities joined in to support the actress and congratulated her. One of them was Paul Kevin Jonas, Nick Jonas’s father and Priyanka’s father-in-law. He shared her post on his Instagram story and wrote, “Congratulations, Priyanka Chopra! When do we eat?!” She replied saying, “Anytime senior! It’s yours!” with heart eyes and joined hands emoticons.
