A scientist at the Metrological Center Hyderabad Sravani reported that Telangana is likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall within the next few days.
“Telangana has received good rainfall in the past 24 hours. Nagarkunool received 16 cms of rainfall, while some districts received 9 cms. Over the past 24 hours, the state’s temperature has also risen to 32 degrees Celsius,” Sravani said.
In the next five days, Telangana is likely to receive a good amount of rainfall, especially in the southern districts of Jogulamba Gadwal, Vanaparti, Nagarkurnool, and Nalgonda, while in the central regions, rain is likely to be moderate to heavy, she said.
On Wednesday and Thursday, Hyderabad is expected to experience cloudy mornings and light to moderate rainfall throughout the evening, according to the IMD.
In the meantime, the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS) predicted light to moderate rainfall in a few parts of Hyderabad
until July 9, 2022. It is expected that the maximum and minimum temperatures in the city will be 32-33 and 22-24 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Also, heavy to very heavy rain had been predicted for South Interior Karnataka, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh.
In a series of tweets, it said: Heavy to very heavy rainfall…Telangana and South Interior Karnataka on 06th and 07th; Vidarbha on 08th; Chhattisgarh on 07th and 08th July 2022.
It further added that some scattered heavy to very heavy rainfall is also likely over Konkan and Goa during the next five days, and isolated extremely heavy rainfall is likely over coastal Karnataka on 06th.
Rains severally hit Mumbai
Heavy rain lashed the metropolitan on Wednesday, causing severe waterlogging in several parts of Mumbai.
On Tuesday, the IMD issued an orange alert, predicting very heavy rains in Mumbai until July 9.
In the midst of the rain, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde directed officials to monitor the situation and keep National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) squads on standby.
