Telangana: IMD forecast heavy rains for next three days

After many parts of Telangana state received moderate to heavy rainfall on Monday, IMD has forecast that the Telangana state is likely to experience heavy rainfall for the next three days as the Southwest Monsoon would gradually intensify.

In Uppal, Ramanathpur received the highest rainfall of 31 mm until 8 PM on Monday, according to the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS). It rained heavily in Amberpet, Narayanguda, Bandlaguda, Jeedimetla, and Hayathnagar as well.

IMD forecasts heavy rains in Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapally, Warangal rural as well as urban, Siddipet, Sangareddy, and Kamareddy on Tuesday.

The maximum temperature is expected to be between 34 and 36° C during the last 24 hours, and the minimum temperature is expected to be between 22 and 24° C.

A yellow alert has been issued by the weather department for the Telangana state capital due to the possibility of wet weather in the coming days. Yellow alerts are issued when heavy rain falls between 7.5 mm and 15 mm.

On Monday, intermittent rain lashed many parts of the city and its outskirts, flooding many roads. People suffered hardships as a result. Many roads were blocked by traffic. There were sheets of water covering several low-lying areas.

According to the Met Office, the formation of a cyclonic circulation and low-pressure area over Odisha has contributed to heavy rains in the Telangana state.

On Saturday, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) announced that the southwest monsoon had completely covered the Indian subcontinent, thereby announcing the monsoon season.

A southwest monsoon wind covered the country entirely on 2 July 2022. Kerala experienced the southwest monsoon on 29 May, three days earlier than normal.

Uttarakhand will also experience heavy rainfall over the next four days, according to IMD. On Monday, Dehradun, Nainital, and Bageshwar districts were warned of heavy rain.
