State, Centre failed to provide promised houses to poor people: TPCC

Hyderabad: TPCC official spokesperson Indira Shoban on Friday alleged that the State and the Union governments were ruining the dreams of homeless people in the state. She alleged that neither the State government nor the Centre was keen on fulfilling the dreams of the homeless people by building them homes.

Pointing out that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao mocked the indiramma houses built by the Congress government in the State, she asked the CM as to what happened to his promise of 2 BHK houses. She said only 12 percent of the targeted houses had been completed so far by the State government across the State. She said not even one two-bed-room house was completed in Narayanapeta, Vikarabad and Komuram Bhim districts so far. She said less than 100 houses had been completed in Jogulamba Gadwal, Nagarkurnool, Mancherial, Peddapalle, and Ranga Reddy Districts by the TRS government so far.

She claimed that the Housing Minister Prashant Reddy had told the Assembly that they would complete two lakh houses by September 16, 2019. She mocked that the authorities were able to complete only 7,944 houses out of a target of one lakh houses in the GHMC limits so far.

Referring to the promise of providing Rs 5 lakh to those families, which have own land to build houses of the ruling TRS party, she asked the State government as to how many people got the amount so far. She also made it clear to the ruling party leaders to complete the double bedroom house targets soon.
