State Seeks 7.7 Lakh Tonnes Of Urea From Centre

Hyderabad : Agriculture minister S Niranjan Reddy today urged the Centre to release 7.7 lakh metric tons of urea fertilisers to Telangana State.  The centre has  agreed to give seven lakh mt urea to the state.

He called on Union Fertilisers minister Sadananda Gouda and urged to release 1.5 lakh metro tons of fertilisers as promised for October.

He informed the Union Minister  that the state has witnessed more crops of paddy and others from 103 to 132 percent. In Rabi,   crops were sown in 8.5 lakh acres  to 42 lakh acres,  and Kaleshwaram  project was  to irrigate about 45 lakh acres in future. He said that the centre agreed to make   the  Ramagundam fertilizer factory  functional in future.(NSS)
