Students Protest at Koti Women’s University, Demand UGC Recognition

Students of Koti Women’s University staged a large-scale protest on campus today, urging the institution’s inclusion in the University Grants Commission (UGC) list. The demonstration, led by a group of female students, highlighted the urgent need for UGC recognition to ensure the university’s academic credibility and to foster the growth of women’s higher education.

The protesting students voiced their concerns about the repercussions of the university’s lack of UGC accreditation. They pointed out that without official recognition, the degrees awarded by the university carry limited weight in professional and academic arenas.

“The absence of UGC recognition not only limits our employment prospects but also hampers our ability to pursue higher education in other institutions. Our future is at stake,” said one of the protesters.

The students emphasized that the institution’s inclusion in the UGC list is essential to safeguard their academic and professional aspirations. The demonstrators gathered in large numbers on the university campus, holding placards and chanting slogans to demand swift action. Their banners carried messages such as “Recognize Our Degrees” and “UGC Accreditation for a Better Future.”

The protesters called on the university administration and state government to take immediate steps to address the issue. They also set a deadline for action, warning that the protests would escalate if their demands were not met.

So far, university authorities have not issued a statement addressing the students’ concerns. However, the issue has attracted significant attention, with expectations that the state government will intervene to expedite the process of securing UGC recognition.

The protest has brought to light the struggles faced by smaller institutions seeking official recognition and accreditation. UGC accreditation is vital for universities to maintain their credibility and ensure the success of their students in both academic and professional fields.

Students have vowed to continue their efforts until their demands are met, underscoring the critical need for action to resolve the issue. The demonstration serves as a reminder of the importance of official recognition for educational institutions in shaping the future of their students.
