Sunny Deol gets Y-security after tweet supporting farm laws

Supporting the government has earned celebrities additional security to save themselves from the wrath of the public these days as another incident surfaces.

Veteran actor and BJP MP, Sunny Deol, has been granted Y-security after his tweets backing the contentious farm laws gained him massive trolls.

His existing security was upgraded post his stance on the farm laws that have ignited the peaceful protests of farmers across the country demanding the repeal of the 3 laws near the borders of the national capital.

Now, the 63-year-old actor will be protected with 11 personnel, including 2 commandos and policemen as part of the Y-category security bestowed upon him after assuming that he will be on the receiving end of violence from agitators.

This was earlier offered to Kangana Ranaut after the actress posted several controversial comments on the Maharashtra government and police that led to a much bigger net of events.

Sunny Deol, the MP from Gurdaspur, was previously asked to comment on the current issue that has grasped the country as the actor resorted to silence over the matter.

Through a post on Twitter, the MP said last week that the prevailing problem was the concern of the government and the farmers and that some people were trying to create a ruckus for their own means.

“I know that many people want to take advantage of the situation and are creating problems. They are not thinking of farmers. They may have their own agenda. I stand with my party and farmers and will always be with farmers. Our government always thinks of the betterment of farmers and I am sure that the government will ensure the right outcome after holding talks with farmers,” elder Deol brother’s tweet read.

With the newly added safety given to him for the tweet alone, he will be in the bubble of protection with 11 officers on his side.

The tweet was made in regards to the farmers protesting continuing majorly in Delhi and other states of the country as well, including Haryana and Punjab, raising their voice against the controversial new farm laws that the farmers are afraid will leave them at the mercy of big corporates while robbing their right of MSP (Minimum Support Prices). This MSP would earlier assure them of a minimum bracket price given to them despite any issue. With the scrapping of this meager right, farmers say they will be left as prey to the hungry business houses that will exploit them to their pocket’s content.

Senior Deol and the father of Sunny Deol, Dharmendra, also took to Twitter to take a stand after his son’s comments.

“I’m extremely in pain to see the suffering of my farmer brothers,” said the BJP member who served as an MP from 2004 to 2009 from Rajasthan’s Bikaner.

He had deleted his earlier tweet where he asked for a speedy resolution from the government in this matter that welcomed major trolls.

The 85-year old’s wife, Hema Malini, is also a BJP MP and has been leaning onto the support of silence in the protests’ matter.
