Hyderabad : TRS MP J Santhosh Kumar today said human life depends on greenery and we need to give a push for the ongoing “Green Challenge”. He said he was fortunate to participate in green challenge drive to expand greenery and to rebuild a State with non-pollution environment.
At a program, Santhosh planted a sapling to mark the drive, which reached 3 crores of saplings so far. Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiyuddin, Ramgopalpet corporator A Aruna and others were present. The MP said green challenge has been getting huge response and the State has to turn green to get more rains. He began the green challenge program as part of Haritha Haraam program of Telangana government. The program got huge response from ministers, MLAs, officials, actors and public and social media is giving a big support.
Santhosh said Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao wants the State to be a most liveable place with abundant greenery. Karunakar Reddy of Igniting Minds organization said the participants of the green challenge will be awarded with APJ Abdul Kalam Vanamitra award. Our aim is to reach the target of planting 10 crore saplings, he said. (NSS)
