The petrol price in Chennai is Rs. 105.51 per litre, while the diesel price is Rs. 90.62 per litre. Petrol prices in Bangalore today are Rs. 101.42 per litre, while diesel prices remain at Rs. 85.80 per litre.
India-Russia oil deal
In other news, India had defended its choice to purchase discounted crude oil from Russia on Friday, stating that genuine energy transactions should not be politicized.
According to reports, India’s state-owned refiner Hindustan Petroleum Corp Ltd purchased two million barrels of crude oil from Russia. Indian Oil Corp was reported to have purchased three million barrels of oil from Russia a few days ago.
According to reports, Russia is giving a 20% discount on oil purchases below global benchmark prices.

According to sources, India considers that countries that are self-sufficient in oil or those that import from Russia cannot credibly advocate for trade restrictions.
