Telangana: Conflict breaks out between TRS, BJP workers

On Monday, during a flag hoisting ceremony in Devurauppala, Jangaon district, a clash broke out between workers of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

According to reports, two BJP workers have been seriously injured, while others have suffered minor injuries.

In the wake of the clash, a video of Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar appeared on Twitter, in which the Karimnagar MP appears visibly angry while speaking with DGP. It is heard that he blames the state police force for not being able to control the situation.

Bandi Sanjay is on his third phase of ‘Praja Sangrama Yatra’.

According to the video, Bandi Sanjay can be heard lambasting the DGP regarding the security being provided.

“I will also show you dadagiri if you show it to me. The entire situation needs to be controlled within ten minutes,” Bandi Sanjay was heard saying in the video.

Telangana Police responded poorly to the clash in which Karyakartas were injured, according to BJP leader Bandi Sanjay. He said that TRS goons hurled stones during a Praja Sangarama Yatra, injuring two Karyakartas with their stones.

There has been an improvement in the situation, according to the police. There has been no registration of a case, however.

“As soon as the flag hoisting was completed, TRS goons attacked us with sticks and stones. Two of our workers have suffered serious head injuries. They have been admitted to a nearby hospital,” a BJP spokesperson said.

In addition, he stated that the party was angry and upset with the police’s attitude. The police should have been more proactive and stringent in controlling the situation. “This is a matter of shame,” the BJP spokesperson said

This development is noteworthy because it comes just months before the Telangana Assembly Elections, which are scheduled for next year.
