Telangana cop gets suspended due to birthday celebration spreads COVID-19

A birthday celebration organised by a Telangana cop prompted the spread of COVID-19 among the police workforce in Rachakonda police commissionerate.

Taking authentic note of the infringement of COVID rules by constable Shiv Kumar, Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat requested his suspension.

Two different constables were given charge notice while a show-cause notice served on a controller.

Telangana cop Shiv Kumar, joined to Keesara police headquarters, facilitated a birthday get-together for partners and companions at a retreat at Keesara on the outskirts of Hyderabad. They all consumed alcohol at the gathering.

The issue went to the notification of higher-ups when Shiv Kumar posted an image of the gathering as his WhatsApp DP.

The officials coordinated Shiv Kumar and two different constables who went to the party to go through COVID test. Shiv Kumar and another constable Naveen tested positive.

Shiv Kumar has been suspended while Naveen and another constable were given charge update.

The police chief arranged a Deputy Commissioner of Police to direct a request and present the report.

Police were additionally considering activity against other people who went to the gathering.

Senior authorities said the police constable disregarded the COVID-19 guidelines. Police workforce has been carefully advised not to arrange any gatherings considering the pandemic.

There are three police comissionerate’s covering Hyderabad and the rural areas, Rachakonda is one of the three.

“After a birthday party organised in Vanasthalipuram sometime ago, many positive cases were reported and superior officers had issued instructions to avoid such celebrations. But it is noticed that instructions are not followed,” Bhagwat stated and gave a charged reminder to the next police constables who went to the gathering and a show cause to Keesara assessor J Narender Goud for management slips. This sort of carelessness in uniform help won’t go on without serious consequences, he included.
