This year’s Independence Day celebration promises to be a vibrant display of Telangana’s rich and diverse cultural heritage. According to a press release from the state government, more than one thousand artists from various traditional art forms will participate, dressed in their traditional attires. The event will feature performances from a wide array of cultural troupes, including Gussadi, Kommu Koya, Lambadi, Dappulu, Oggu Dollu, Kolatam, Bonalu Kolatam, Bhaindla Jamidikal, Chindu Yaksha Gaanam, Karrasaamu, Kuchipudi, Bharatnatyam, Perni, and Nagara Bheri.
Director of Culture Harikrishna emphasized the significance of this cultural showcase, noting that it will serve as a key attraction during the celebrations. “This event will be a unique opportunity to witness the rich and varied cultural heritage of Telangana in one place,” he said.

In an effort to instill a sense of patriotism among the younger generation, the event will also involve the participation of school children from various institutions across the state. “It is essential to kindle the spirit of patriotism among our children, and what better way than to involve them in the celebrations of our nation’s independence,” stated the Chief Secretary.
Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari directed the officials to make foolproof arrangements for the event. She instructed the police department to implement proper security measures, bandobust, and traffic arrangements to ensure that the public experiences minimal inconvenience. The Chief Secretary stressed the importance of close coordination among all line departments to organize the event in a grand and seamless manner.
The Golconda Fort, a site of historical significance, will serve as the perfect backdrop for this year’s celebrations, combining the spirit of independence with a vibrant display of Telangana’s cultural legacy.
