A 172-page ‘progress report’ detailing development works carried out during K Chandrashekar Rao’s tenure in Telangana was released on the occasion of the eighth-year anniversary of his power in the state on Thursday, coinciding with the state’s formation day.
The government’s report on state formation day listed various schemes that have benefited a large chunk of the population in the state, such as Shaadi Mubarak, KCR kits, Kalyana Laxmi, Rythu Bima, Rythu Bandhu, and Aasara pensions.
In 2018, nearly 63 lakh farmers received Rythu Bandhu twice a year, equal to Rs 5,000 per acre, while 60.83 lakh farmers received the same for the Kharif season, according to the report.
Rythu Bima benefits 80,861 families and covers 35.64 lakh farmers for which the state government paid the LIC about Rs 14,000 crore in premiums.

Under the free sheep distribution scheme, the government has distributed 81.60 lakh sheep to 3.88 lakh beneficiaries.
In the report describing the KCR Kit programme launched in 2017 to reduce maternal and infant mortality, it states that it is applicable to deliveries in government hospitals where two live children are delivered, and it contains a cash component of Rs 12,000 for a male child and Rs 13,000 for a female child.
Furthermore, the report said that Rs 1,00,116 was paid to 11,45,920 beneficiaries under the Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes since the government came to power in 2014. All Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Backward Classes are covered by this scheme.
In 2014, Arogyasri’s Arogyasri scheme provided free treatment to 13.31 lakh people, providing Rs 5,817 crore.
KT Rama Rao, Telangana’s Industries and IT Minister, said the state’s exports of information technology and IT-enabled services surged 26.14 per cent to Rs 1,83,569 crore in the year ended March 2022 as compared to Rs 1,45,522 crore in the previous year.
Rao released the IT department’s annual performance report. State IT and ITeS exports grew by 26.14 per cent despite the COVID-19 pandemic, he said.

In the 2021-2022 period, employment in the IT/ITeS sector also increased by 23.7 per cent to reach 7,78,121. During 2021-22, about 1.5 lakh new jobs were created in the IT/ ITeS sector. In the previous year, there were 6,28,615.
As of 2014, Telangana’s IT exports were worth Rs 57,258 crore and IT employment was 3,23,397. Telangana has achieved a CAGR of 15.6% in exports from Rs 57,258 crore to Rs 1,83,569 crore since its inception. The total number of people employed in the IT sector today is 7,78,121. Telangana has added 4,54,725 new IT/ITeS jobs over the last eight years, according to the minister.
