The Chief Justice decided to close the batch of PILs after hearing the AG’s arguments but paused for a moment to ask the AG what the latest position was on the payment of compensation to the relatives of those who died from the coronavirus.

As a result, the Chief Justice Court adjourned the Covid-19 batch of PILs for six weeks, directing the State Government to file a new status report duly furnishing information on payment of compensation to the deceased’s dependants, as well as to follow the latest guidelines issued by the Government of India on February 25.
