Telangana Man arrested for calling police after wife refuses to cook mutton while drunk

A man from the Nalgonda area was detained after dialling 100 six times while drunk in order to file a complaint against his wife for refusing to cook mutton curry. Naveen (28), a resident of Cherla Gowraram village in Nalgonda’s Kanagal Mandal district, Naveen returned home inebriated with mutton and asked his wife to prepare the curry. “Angry at her husband’s condition, Naveen’s wife refused to prepare the curry, prompting Naveen to dial 100,” police added.

According to Kanagal SI Nagesh, the personnel initially mistook the call for a joke and unplugged it. “Naveen, on the other hand, proceeded to dial 100 in order to file a complaint against his wife. He called six times over the same problem “The SI elaborated. After receiving the report, the police went to his house, but he was not arrested because he was intoxicated. Later, on Saturday morning, he was arrested for wasting the time of the police by contacting an emergency number for a minor concern. Naveen realised his mistake and secluded himself to his residence, where villagers mocked him for bothering the police with a trivial complaint.

According to sources, the accused is a labourer from Nalgonda’s Cherla Gowraram village who became enraged when his wife did not make mutton curry for him. This occurrence occurred on Friday night. According to the local police, Naveen dialled the helpline’s 100 number to report his wife’s behaviour, but the personnel ignored his phone call. However, after he made six calls in a row, the team was informed about the situation.

Dial 100 Police service should not be used to file frivolous complaints, unfortunately for Naveen, he learned it the hard way. Naveen was charged by the Nalgonda police for repeatedly dialling the police helpline number while inebriated and reporting a minor concern.
