Telangana: Summer weather to resurge in a week as no more heavy rains expected

After heavy rains and thunderstorms lashed the city on and off for several days, the summer weather is expected to return as the rains move to Andhra Pradesh over the next three days.

Cloudiness and thunderstorms over the state on most days this week have kept maximum temperatures 3 to 5 degrees Celsius below normal in most areas.

According to the latest India Meteorological Department-Hyderabad (IMD-H) forecast, the city will receive mild to moderate rainfall over the next two days, with the possibility of thundershowers on Thursday and Friday.

The prediction is for scattered rainfall later in the week, ruling out the possibility of heavy rains. However, isolated areas of the state are likely to receive heavy rain on Monday. Adilabad, KomaramBheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagityal, Karimnagar, Peddapally, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthi, Narayanpet, and Jogulamba Gadwal would be affected, according to an IMD report.

“Thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (40-50 KMPH) very likely to occur at isolated places in the many districts of Telangana,” stated their weather report.

The Telangana State Development Planning Society’s daily report said that the maximum temperatures are forecast to range from 35 to 38 degrees Celsius, with lowest temperatures ranging from 22 to 25 degrees Celsius.

When it comes to the highest rainfall hit places in Telangana, Jangaon recorded 123.5 mm, the highest portion of rainfall, while Bhongir in Yadadri recorded the lowest with 119.5 mm.

Shaikpet recorded the most rainfall (106 mm), followed by Khajaguda (96.8 mm), Ramanthapur (82 mm), Anandbagh (81.3 mm) and Srinagar colony (80 mm) in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).

According to the TSDPS report, maximum temperatures in the GHMC zones are forecast to range from 33 to 35 degrees Celsius, with low temperatures ranging from 22 to 24 degrees Celsius.
