Cyberabad police arrested three students from Telangana’s Nirmal district for allegedly stealing bikes in Medchal. The trio was found with two pulsar bikes, a KTM Duke, and a scooty.

Medchal police arrested Mohammed Imran, 18, Sumer Ahmed Khan, 20, and Shaik Sharaz Ali, all Nirmal residents, on Monday. The trio, together with their associates Adnan and Salman, formed a gang and frequently visited Hyderabad to steal motorcycles.

On September 30, five members of the gang arrived in Medchal and stole two Pulsar motorcycles and a KTM Duke.

“The gang opened the handle after breaking the bike’s lock and started the bike by connecting the bike’s plug.” Gayaz Baba, who is on the run, buys the stolen property. The gang visited Nagpur in 2020 and committed of an Activa and Pulsar bike there,” said V V S Ramalingaraju, ACP Balanagar division, Cyberabad.

The gang sold the bikes to Gayaz Baba for Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 each and split the money between them equally.

In July, the Shamshabad Special Operations Team, in collaboration with the Rajendranagar police, apprehended a four-member gang of automobile thieves, including two minor boys, who had committed a series of two-wheeler thefts in the previous ten months. The police recovered 46 bikes worth Rs.50 lakh from them.

Mohd Ashwaq alias Kabir (21) and Mohd Akber (19), both residents of Bandlaguda in Chandrayangutta, were arrested. The two minors were in their mid-teens. Rizwan and Saddam, two suspects, were on the run.

M.Stephen Raveendra, Cyberabad Police Commissioner, stated that all of the suspects were close friends who sold stolen scooters and bikes for between Rs.15,000 and Rs.30,000. Raveendra stated that the money was divided among them.

“The stolen vehicles were sold to people known to them in the districts of Nizamabad and Vikarabad, as well as in Hyderabad,” the Commissioner stated.

The police team apprehended the suspects in Rajendranagar after receiving a tip. A total of 46 vehicles stolen from the Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda police limits were recovered.
