The Hyderabad police had identified 1279 different types of vehicles and plan to sell them at public auction. The opponent may file a complaint with the Basheer Bagh Commissioner of Police in Hyderabad according to Section 7 of the Hyderabad Police Act 2004.
Apart from impacting the aesthetics of the police stations, City Police Commissioner CV Anand has asked all officers to clean Law & Order and Traffic police stations, the Goshamahal Police Stadium, and various other offices where abandoned vehicles are engaged in criminal cases are languishing and taking space.
In a preliminary attempt, the City Police auctioned 601 confiscated and abandoned automobiles at Goshamahal police grounds on Tuesday, which was formally opened by the Commissioner.
Anand, speaking at the occasion, asked bidders to be fair in their bidding and to be wary of illicit drug trafficking and use.
Around 550 buyers from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh competed in the auction, which featured 545 two-wheelers, 21 three-wheelers, and two four-wheelers.

Out of the sale of 600 automobiles, the total revenue received in the auction was Rs.51.7 lakh, which would be put in the government treasury.
Officials added that despite sending out press releases warning owners, most of them were hesitant to pick up their automobiles.
Some of the unclaimed automobiles had deteriorated to the point where they could only be sold to scrap metal dealers.
In most cases, the police auction off the seized vehicles to get them off the lot. However, officials say that housing too many automobiles on the lot is an issue that has been worsened by the pandemic, which has imposed a halt on regular auctions.
The Hyderabad City Police Department is proposing to auction off roughly 5,000 vehicles.
