“The car dint topple, the UP govt has been saved from toppling due to spillage of its secrets”- Akhilesh Yadav

With the police claiming the death of Vikas Dubey to be an encounter, various political leaders are raising questions on the authenticity of the statement.

Akhilesh Yadav, the former CM of Uttar Pradesh, as a satire tweeted saying that the alleged turning of the police car during the encounter was nothing but a way to stop the government getting changed due to the number of secrets Vikas could spill to the country regarding the Yogi government.

The tweet written in Hindi fairly translates to, “The car dint topple, the government has been saved from getting toppled after the spilling of its secrets.”

According to the police officials, Vikas Dubey got killed in an encounter after a road accident occurred when the car they were travelling in toppled. It is being said that Vikas then tried to escape, snatching a pistol from a police official, during which he was shot in the chest. He suffered 3 bullets in his chest and was declared dead when he brought to the hospital in blood-soaked condition.

After this, a number of controversies started doing the rounds on social media, as more questions were being raised than answers for the incident.

Many politicians, lawyers and opposition leaders accused that Vikas was killed on purpose and not during any encounter to save the UP government’s secrets being out in the open. They also alleged that the murder of the criminal protected all the big names responsible for backing him during his acts.

Mr. Yadav tweeted on Thursday regarding the arrest of Vikas saying, “There is news that the main accused in the Kanpur case is in police custody. If this is true, the government should clarify whether it was a surrender or an arrest. Call records should be made public so that those who colluded with him are exposed.”

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi also tweeted about the matter through an Urdu verse saying, “His silence is better than many answers, who knows how many questions have been protected.”

Congress leader and Rahul’s sister, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, took notice of the issue as well and tweeted, “The criminal is dead. But what about crime and those who give protection to it?”

Omer Abdullah, former J&K CM wrote an idiom on Twitter saying, “Dead men tell no tales,” hinting at the people who saved themselves through Vikas’s death.

“This is the most blatant case of extra-judicial killing. Dubey was a gangster terrorist who may have deserved to die. But (Uttar Pradesh) police have killed him to shut his mouth,” Supreme Court lawyer Prashant Bhushan tweeted on the social media platform.

The last week saw the killings of 5 of the aides of Vikas, including his closest associate, Amar Dubey.

“Vikas Dubey notorious criminal and gangster of Kanpur UP has been killed in an encounter today morning as per UP Police. He has met his fate .UP Police deserves credit of not allowing him to escape, it could have been dangerous. Politicians-criminal-Police nexus be uncovered,” tweeted former Jammu and Kashmir police chief SP Vaid.
