The more people adopt Ambedkarwad, the Manuvad will get hurt: Mahmood Paracha

Reacting over the question of why the Dalits in India are joining Buddhism these days, Mahmood Paracha, a senior Supreme Court Lawyer said, “First of all I would like to remind the people that there are only two ‘Wads’ in India. One is Manuvad and the other is Ambedkarwad. As and when the people adopt Ambedkarwad, the Manuvad will get hurt and aghast.”

During an interview to a news channel recently, he said, “It was in the year 1924 when Baba Saheb Ambedkar stirred his campaign more assertively and formed Samta Sainik Dal,” he said adding that “To counter this, the supporters of Manuvard formed the RSS. Just three years later, Baba Saheb torched the Manusmriti on December 25, 1927 and framed the constitution of India.”

Today, he said, what we are witnessing is that the efforts are being made to establish a Hindurastra through obliteration of the Indian constitution by the RSS and its umbrella groups. These are the attempts to impose the same manusmriti again which were thrown out by Baba Saheb long back to establish the Indian constitution in the country. These are the things that need to be understood very carefully.

“There are people who claim themselves as the supporters of Baba Sahab and even deceptively use his portrait or launch his apps too but they actually hate Baba sahab’s notions and his teachings in general,” pointed out Paracha.

In UP, were Manuvadi thought rules the roost, myriad number of people especially from Dalit community are taking oath of allegiance with Buddhism and pledging 22 vows of Baba Saheb Ambedkar. “In order to display solidarity with the suppressed people, we as a Muslims too should stand with them the same way the Dalit people stand with us when any injustice meted out to the Muslims,” argued Mahmood.

The Indian constitution gave rights to the citizens of this country to live with or without allegiance to any faith or religion. No one can impose their thoughts or faith on others. Some biased police officials are filing FIRs against people who are adopting Buddhism or pledging 22 vows of Baba Saheb which is not correct. “What the people are doing does not come under any offence here. What the officials are doing against the people is actually considered an offence,” claimed Mahmood Paracha.
