Tight security for Ganesh immersion; 739 new CCTV’s installed, 24k police deployed

The Hyderabad police have made foolproof security arrangements across twin cities in preparation for Ganesh immersion-2022. Twenty-four thousand police officers have been deployed to ensure the peaceful passage of the procession.

On Thursday, Hyderabad police commissioner CV Anand inspected the Ganesh idol procession route with senior police officers.

On Friday and Saturday, around 9523 idols will be immersed across the city (excluding idols below 3ft) according to the city police chief. A total of 24,132 police personnel and 122 reserve police platoons have been deployed this year.

As per the reports, security arrangements have been made along the 19 km procession route from Balapur to Hussain Sagar. Additional police officers are also being deployed from other districts and its allied branches in addition to the city police.

With the help of a widespread CCTV camera network, the city police will keep an eye on the main procession route and the tributary procession routes.

There will be two mobile command control centers for close supervision, as well as four vehicles equipped with cameras.

Some roads in the city that are part of the procession will either be closed to regular traffic or will be diverted, according to reports.

In addition to the existing cameras, 739 CCTVs have also been installed along the routes through which the main procession will pass. A total of 10 drone cameras will likewise be deployed at all points of immersion around Hussain Sagar Lake.

There are also multiple Quick Response Teams, special squads, dog squads, anti-chain snatching teams, and SHE teams deployed. To ensure smooth traffic flow, traffic restrictions have been implemented.

CV Anand also appealed that the organizers of the pandal and the general public should also cooperate with the police and other volunteers.
