To facilitate women folk, special vaccination campaign took up at Barkas

In order to avoid inconveniency to veiling Muslim women, a door-to-door vaccination drive was conducted today at Barkas area by constituting a dedicated women medical team under the supervision of Talha Saleh Kaseri, a senior most AIMIM leader of the area.

A medical team of women paramedics led by Dr.Sandhya incharge Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC) Barkas went round the room in the colony to administer shots of covishield and covexin in both first and second dose. It is said that out of 200 shots allocated for the drive, a total of 100 doses were administered on Tuesday while remaining doses will be provided the next day of the drive.

While a camp has been set-up at Barkas Bazar to facilitate the people with required jabs in both the categories, a team of women medical experts room around the area as part of a door-to-door campaign for women folk. Together the campaign conducted by the medical team ensured jabs to around 128 people today .

“Considering that the veiling Muslim woman feel it completely inconvenient to venture out their houses to get the jabs, a door-to-door vaccination drive has been conducted to reach out the women folk of the area with a dedicated medical team consists of Dr.Sandhiya and two paramedic members Madhavi and Asia. Out of 200 doses allotted to carry out door-to-door campaign, almost 128 shots have been provided today while remaining task will be completed during a week time ahead, informed Talha Saleh Kaseri, who helps the medical team with smooth conduct of the drive,” informed Talha Saleh Kaseri.

“It was on the special request made by the MLA Chandrayangutta Akber Owaisi, an all women medical team was constituted to carry out a door-to-door campaign that will continue in the days to come to achieve the target,” he asserted.
