Traffic restrictions to be imposed at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday

A traffic advisory has been issued by the Hyderabad traffic police in light of the swearing-in ceremony of Telangana High Court Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday.

From 8 am to 12.30 pm, traffic between Monappa Island and VV Statue junction will be diverted or stopped based on the need for it.

As part of the parking arrangements, vehicles will be parked from Gate No-III to the Administrative Block for judges, MsP, MsLA and MsLC vehicles, Dilkusha Guest House – media vehicles, MMTS Parking Lot – other VIP vehicles, and Metro Residency to NASR School – single line parking.

During these specified times, the traffic police urged citizens to avoid Raj Bhavan road and take alternate routes to their destinations.

Congress protest outside Raj Bhavan

Last week, Congress workers in Telangana protested outside Raj Bhavan in Hyderabad, threw stones at a state-run bus, and set a two-wheeler ablaze in protest against the ED’s questioning of Rahul Gandhi.

As the party workers tried to cross the barricades outside Raj Bhavan, they raised slogans against the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA government at the Centre, accusing them of a witchhunt.

“Chalo Raj Bhavan” protests were organized after the party leadership instructed state units to intensify their agitation over the ED’s inquiry of Rahul Gandhi. ED told Gandhi on Wednesday evening that he will have to appear again in connection with its money laundering investigation involving the National Herald.

As hundreds of Congress workers marched towards Raj Bhavan from Khairatabad, about half a kilometer from the barricades outside the Raj Bhavan gate, traffic was blocked on Raj Bhavan Road.

As the party workers attempted to cross the barricades, there was a scuffle between the police and them. The melee also resulted in some party workers fainting and being taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
