Train Fire Erupts at Kazipet Railway Station

A significant fire erupted in idle passenger coaches at Kazipet Railway Station on Tuesday, with no reported casualties. Alert passengers and locals promptly notified railway authorities, prompting a swift response from Kazipet Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP).

A fire tender from Hanamkonda was dispatched, and it took five firefighters an hour to control the blaze. The incident involved an unused passenger coach, No. 987519, en route to Secunderabad for scrapping in the loco shed. Kazipet RPF authorities quickly responded to the fire on line No. R6, preventing further escalation.

The South Central Railway (SCR) authorities in Secunderabad will assess the extent of losses and damages. The Kazipet RPF has urged an inquiry by Kazipet GRP to investigate the incident.
