Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) workers staged protests across the state on Wednesday against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech in parliament, in which he stated that Telangana statehood was achieved in a hasty manner behind closed doors.
TRS working president and Minister KT Rama Rao called the party leaders to organize demonstrations wearing black badges at all district, Mandal and constituency headquarters.
On Twitter, the hashtag #ModienemyofTelangana trended, and the attack was led by TRS working President and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao. On Tuesday, he condemned Prime Minister Modi’s comments in Parliament and demanded that he apologize to the people of Telangana.

KTR expresses disappointment over the Hijab row
The TRS working president also conveyed his disappointment over the Hijab controversy in Karnataka, where the BJP government made uniforms mandatory for students attending classes in educational institutions while refusing to allow Muslim girls to wear headscarves.
On Twitter, he criticised the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in Karnataka, claiming that it is the “modus operandi” of a few as elections approach. He also describes in poetic terms the sad state of the secular country which is divided over religion for the profit of power-hungry political parties, each time elections approach.
“Very disappointed and disturbed, but the modus operandi is all too familiar.” Deshkahi… MazhabiTanaav Hai, TohSamjho Ki, Koyina Koi Chunaav Hai… (If there is any communal tension in the nation, assume that elections are on the horizon, (sic)” he said. He was responding to a netizen who said that under BJP rule, Karnataka has rapidly devolved from Silicon Valley to Saffron Valley.
