Trump Says UN Should Hold China Responsible for COVID-19 Pandemic

US President Donald Trump lashed out towards China on Tuesday demanding that the UN should consider Beijing responsible for the outcomes of releasing the plague of COVID-19 on the world.

Talking at the General Assembly’s high-level gathering in a pre-recorded address, he stated: The Chinese government and the WHO, which is essentially controlled by China,  falsely declared that there was no evidence of human-to-human transmission. Later, they falsely said people without symptoms would not spread the disease.

The United Nations must hold China accountable for their actions, he claimed.

Trump blamed Beijing for permitting the COVID-19 – which he called China virus- to spread.

In the early days of the virus, China closed down travel domestically while enabling flights to leave China and infect the world. China condemned my travel ban on their country, even as they cancelled domestic flights and locked citizens in their homes.

Trump volunteered to share the anti-COVID-19 vaccines.

He stated: We will issue a vaccine, we will beat the virus, we will end the pandemic, and we will enter a new era of unprecedented success, cooperation, and unity.

Trump said his administration has faced many years of China’s trade abuses.

He took a jab at China on its environmental record comparing that with that of his own nation that is frequently under analysis.

Trump stated: China dumps millions and millions of tonnes of plastic and trash into the oceans, overfishes other countries’ waters, destroys vast swaths of coral reef, and emits more toxic mercury into the atmosphere than any country anywhere in the world. China’s carbon emissions are nearly twice what the US has, and it’s rising fast.

Shielding his choice to pull back from the Paris Climate Agreement, he said US emissions have descended since he made the move.

Trump declared that American prosperity is the bedrock of opportunity and security everywhere in the world.

In a campaign effort to his national crowd 42 days from the US political elections, he said out of synchronizing with the UN centre around disarmament: Our military has increased substantially in size. We spent $2.5 trillion over the last four years on our military. We have the most powerful military anywhere in the world, and it’s not even close.

China’s Permanent Representative Zhang Jun, before presenting the recorded discourse of his nation’s President Xi Jinping, beat back at Trump saying that a political virus should not be spread when there is a requirement for solidarity and collaboration.

He stated: China resolutely reject the baseless accusation against China.
