TS, AP ministers release Krishna water into NSP Left Canal

Hyderabad:TelanganaEducation Minister G Jagadish Reddy and Andhra Pradesh Irrigation Minister Anil Kumar Yadav today released the Krishna water to the Left Canal of the Nagarjuna Sagar project. With this, the farmers under the Left Canal ayacut were anxiously waiting for release of water to begin transplantation of paddy nurseries.

With the release of water, agricultural activity will be in full swing in the ayacut. About 10 lakh acres in Nalgonda, Suryapet and Khammam districts would get water and bring cheers to the farmers in the area.  Following heavy inflow of flood waters into Krishna basin, water was released to the NSP Left Canal for the purpose of irrigation facility to the ayacut for the ongoing kharif season.

Speaking on the occasion, Jagadish Reddy said the historic policies being pursued by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for benefit of the society are ideal to the nation. He said other State governments, impressed by Telangana government’s policies, were following and implementing them for welfare of people. He appealed to the other States to utilize the natural resources for benefit of their people.

Stating that Chief Minister KCR set a trend in maintaining friendly relations with other States, Jagadish Reddy said the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh government was responding suitably. He said the State government took up gigantic task of diverting waters of the Krishna and Godavari rivers to turn arid lands into green.

Anil Kumar Yadav lauds KCR
Andhra Pradesh Irrigation Minister Anil Kumar Yadav expressed his happiness over the two Telugu States maintaining friendly relations for the sake of welfare of the people of both the States. He also said it was great that the two States have decided to utilize the river waters for turning the dry lands into wet, instead of allowing them to flow into the Sea. Anil Kumar Yadav also lauded the efforts of Chandrashekhar Rao for taking decisions to benefit the people of the two Telugu States. He also said Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy was also treating KCR as his elder brother and cooperating with the former wholeheartedly.
