Tirumala: Tirumala JEO KS Sreenivasa Raju today directed the TTD officials to make elaborate arrangements for convenience of thousands of devotees likely to visit Tirumala on February 12, holy festival of Ratha Sapthami.
Speaking to reporters after a review meeting at the Annamaiah Bhavan here, the JEO directed the officials of Annaprasadam, Engineering, Health, Garden, Sri Vari Temple, Srivari Sevakulu, Vigilance, SVBC, HDPP to take several steps for smooth and successful conduction of all seven vahanams on the day. He all wanted essential services like medical, medicine and ambulance be kept ready at mada streets for devotees convenience as their number has been ever spiralling from 25,000 of past to about one lakh these days for the festival.
He said engineering department should install 20 LED screens at mada streets and Annaprasadam department to provide drinking water, buttermilk, sambar rice, curd rice, pulihara, pongal etc. in the galleries. The health department should ensure supply of drinking water etc. through Srivari Sevakulu and scouts and guides.
He said in view of devotees rush on Ratha sapthami day all Arjitha sevas and special entry for aged, physically challenged and parents with infants were cancelled. The TTD vigilance officials were also directed to take efficient steps for fool proof security to devotees at both the mada street galleries and Swami Pushkarani.
The JEO review meeting also condoled the death of one Assistan Engineer Venugopal while making arrangements for Sri Ramakrishna Thirtham Mukkoti festival.(NSS)
