Hyderabad: The Commissioner’s Task Force personnel of East Zone Team have apprehended two accused — Mohd Afrozuddin alias Ali and Pankaj Sachadeva of Hafeezbaba Nagar, Kanchanbagh for manipulating ATM Cards magnetic strips by erasing data through one MSR Data Reader and writer swiping machines and entering the data obtained by one software named ICQ and earning easy money illegally.
Acting on a tip-off, the police arrested the duo and seized two Compaq Laptops, one swiping machine (MSR Data Reader and writer, ATM Cards and two cell phones. During interrogation, Mohd Afrozuddin and Pankaj Sachadeva confessed that they came into contact through one of their common friend and developed friendship. They hatched a plan to earn easy money illegally and downloaded one app which provides the ATM Card holders’ data along with PIN.
The accused purchased ATM Card holders’ data along with their PIN numbers by paying money through bitcoin. The accused by using MSR equipment erased the old data on old ATM cards and insert the new data in same Cards and committed offences by withdrawing the amounts in ATMs. The accused and seized property were handed over to SHO, Kanchanbagh PS. (NSS).
