Two TRS rebels join Congress, pose threat to KCR

New Delhi/Hyderabad  : Two senior leaders of the ruling TRS party, who were denied party tickets to contest in the December 7 Assembly elections, today joined the Congress party in the presence of AICC president Rahul Gandhi. TRS leader and Telangana State Road Development Corporation Chairman T. Narsa Reddy and party MLC S. Ramulu Naik joined the Congress in the presence of Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi. It may be mentioned here that the TRS had suspended Narsa Reddy for anti-party activities on Friday. Ramulu Naik, a founder-member of TRS, was also suspended from the party on similar grounds last week.

AICC general secretary incharge of Telangana Affairs R.C. Khuntia informed the media that Narsa Reddy and Ramulu Naik joined the party. Narsa Reddy hails from Gajwel, home constituency of caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao, Khuntia exuded confidence that Narsa Reddy’s joining in the Congress would help defeat the TRS supremo in Gajwel. Narsa Reddy had unsuccessfully contested against KCR as Congress candidate in 2014 elections. V. Pratap Reddy, who had contested the election from Gajwel as TDP ticket in 2014 joined the Congress six months ago. (NSS)
