The UAE Public Prosecution has shared a new plan to use modern technology like artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, and the metaverse to improve how legal cases are handled. This big step is part of the UAE’s long-term goal to make its justice system faster, safer, and more fair.
The announcement was made at the Governance of Emerging Technologies Summit in Abu Dhabi. Chief Prosecutor Salem Al Zaabi said the new system will help reduce the time it takes to deal with criminal cases and make better decisions. AI will help in reading complaints, studying evidence, and writing case summaries. It will also help check police reports and spot urgent matters quickly.
However, AI will not replace human prosecutors. It will only support them. Human judgement will still be important in all decisions. To keep digital evidence safe, the prosecution will use blockchain. This technology will stop anyone from changing or stealing legal records. It will also help track items taken during investigations and make sure all records are honest and complete.

Al Zaabi also talked about the UAE’s first court case involving cryptocurrency. It showed how difficult it was to understand digital money and NFTs. The case helped the prosecution learn and improve. Since then, special training has been given to prosecutors so they are ready to handle modern crimes.
The plan also includes using virtual reality to show 3D crime scenes. This will help courts and investigators understand what really happened. AI will also be used to find early signs of crimes before they happen. To make sure the system is fair, prosecutors will help create the AI programs.
The UAE also wants to work with other countries to fight digital crime. Al Zaabi said digital crimes can cross borders, so it is important to work together. “We are not waiting for the future, we are shaping it,” said Al Zaabi. “We will use technology to protect people’s rights and give quick and fair justice.”
