UP police inspector brags while giving corruption lessons, suspended

Rae Bareli: Uttar Pradesh’s police inspector got served a suspension notice for teaching his associates the tips and tricks to get corrupt. The incident came to light when a video got viral on Wednesday on the internet which showed a cop giving “lesson” in corruption to his subordinates.

The suspended police inspector was the Station House Officer (SHO) of the Kheero police station named Mani Shankar Tiwari.

The inspector can beheard telling his colleagues in the almost 4 minutes audio clip about his experience and success in managing a corrupt police outpost becauseof his link with an MLA and a minister from the previous government.

In the same audio, Tiwari is heard telling juniors, “In charge kakaamhai management karna, auraapkaapradhkarna” (The work of in charge is to manage things, while your work is to commit crime.

Tiwari is also heard talking about how during his term as a police outpost in charge of KalliPaschim in the Kotwali police station, he earned lots of money through corruption.

He says that although he was corrupt, officials couldn’t suspend or remove him from his post due to his connections with the higher authorities.

“Nobody, was able to remove me because of my linkwith a block pramukh who has good rapport with a cabinet minister in the previous government,” Tiwari brags in the clip.

SwapnilMamgain, the Superintendent of police of Rae Bareli told the media that the concerned inspector had got suspended with immediate effect.

“We have also ordered an inquiry against the cop,” the SP added.

The police registered a compliant in regards to the audio clip received and sent a notice of suspension to the accused inspector, Tiwari. Moreover, an inquiry has been ordered against him to probe into the matter and investigate the crimes he proudly boasted in the audio.

While police officials are appointedto safeguard the country and its citizens, such incidents bring shame to the honest cops doing their work. When the system built to maintain peace and justice turns corrupt, the crimes in the country can no longer be stopped.
