Amidst the rising cases of Covid 19 and the concerns about the third variant, the Kushinagar district administration has reported 17 Covid 19 patients missing.
Teams Have Been Deputed To Trace Missing Covid 19 Patients
As per the statement released by Suresh Pataria, the Chief Medical Officer, Kushinagar, samples of 20 people from Padrauna, Ramkola, and Hata in the district had tested positive of the Covid 19 virus.
Following this, eleven employees including the staff and members of the village surveillance committee posted at the healthcare centres have already been suspended for negligence. Pataria said that they have already created teams to trace the missing people and test others in the village as well.
At the same time, the cell phones of the 17 missing people were found to be switched off. The rest of the three samples have been sent to the laboratory at Baba Raghav Das Medical College, Gorakhpur for re-test.
With the initial investigations, the team found out that the health workers had mentioned the wrong addresses of the people. Following this, the teams couldn’t trace the people who had gone missing.
Furthermore, the laboratory staff had (reportedly) destroyed the samples of the 17 people who had tested positive. However, the healthcare workers are supposed to keep them safe.
CMO of Gurakhpur, Sudhakar Pandey said that they have sent an alert in the area and the teams have been dispatched as well.
3000 Covid 19 Patients Went Missing In Karnataka
The above report comes after 3000 patients of Covid 19 went missing in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Vice-Chairman of Karnataka State Disaster Management Authority, R Ashok released a search party of the people who had gone missing.
Talking to the media, Ashok urged people to not switch off their phones in case they test positive. He added that around 3000 people had switched off their phones and went missing. However, the cops were immediately sent to search them.
