TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy today demanded the State government to immediately include Covid treatment in its Aarogyasri scheme in order to extend free and cashless treatment to the poor patients of the state. He told the state government that states like Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh were extending free treatment to their patients. He wondered as to how the state government was showing negligence in the inclusion of the Covid treatment in the Aarogyasri scheme.
He made these remarks while addressing media persons after inaugurating three ambulances at Gandhi Bhavan along former PCC president Ponnala Laxmaiah, party leaders Kumar Rao, Bollu Kishan, Mettu Sai, Nagesh Mudiraj, and the daughter of MLA Jagga Reddy Turpu Jaya Reddy. The ambulances have been set up by the party MLA from Sangareddy T.Jayaprakash Reddy.

Speaking on the occasion he said that the ambulances services could be availed free of cost by the Covid patients and added that the ambulances would pick up the patients and drop them wherever they want within the radius of 50 km in the city. He urged the people of the city to call upon their help desk number 040-24601254 to avail the ambulance services.
Targeting the CM of the state KCR he alleged that KCR had failed to prevent the spread of the virus. He also alleged that the state government had failed to control the prices at private hospitals of the state. Reddy claimed that the state government was not following the orders of the high court of Telangana in the issue of conducting the Covid tests. He said that fear had gripped all the rural areas of the state.
Former PCC president Ponnala Laxmaiah also spoke on the occasion. He said that both prime minister Narendra Modi and CM KCR had failed in containing the spread of the virus. He said that he never thought that the magnanimity of the pandemic could be such high and intense. He alleged that PM Modi had kept the guns on the shoulders of all the states of the country and trying to fire from them instead of discharging his own responsibilities.
He alleged that the PM was not even following the advice of the opposition political parties of the country. He claimed that the state government was stating that the number of positive cases had come down without conducting the tests. He asked the state government if it was not its irresponsibility to play with the lives of the people of the state in the issue of the Covid virus.
