Hyderabad: Senior Congress leader V. Hanumantha Rao on Friday said he was moved after seeing the plight of Rajiv Smrithi Bhavan built on Vizag beach. He said the beach was constructed in the memory of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. He also reminded that the Vizag was the last city visited by Rajiv and the bhavan was built in his memory.
Noting that the incumbent State government led by Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was planning to demolish the Rajiv Bhavan, Hanumantha Rao said it was not good for the AP government to do so. He reminded Jagan that it was the Congress that made his father Y S Rajasekhara Reddy as Chief Minister of undivided AP State. Rao, who came to Vizag to inspect the building, said the idea to remove Rajiv Gandhi building was atrocious. (NSS)
